Ne Zha 2 Review
If you’re into creative hand-to-hand combat choreography, utterly immense visuals, and expressive voice acting then this film is for you. However, some of B’s potty humor played smoothly as the film used it decently in the first few acts.
This features close-up shots of some. remarkably textured vomit as well as a urine drinking scene; Sniffing, farting and humor throughout. There was a drastic change in mood when the bloody action occurred and the combination of this made the entire film a little difficult to take seriously.
A fantastic retelling of the story of Nezha, a popular deity familiar to many Chinese people like me, but reimagined with a modern twist and a plot that comments on the nature of exploitation and good and evil. It builds and expands the supporting cast, world-building, and staying true to the details established in the prequels.
However, due to its reliance on the first film, the film may seem a little out of context as a standalone watch.(For a more international audience that lacks the language and familiarity with the source material on top of the idea) It is therefore recommended to watch Neza 1 first.
The fight scenes do not drag on for long and always have creative gimmicks and spectacular visuals that keep the audience engaged. Nevertheless, the fighting occupies a very large portion of the film, the story is highly paced and structured almost like a boss-fighting game.
As someone who’s naturally more inclined towards character exploration, it doesn’t affect me at all. The emotional scenes, However, the emotional scenes in his presentation, acting and singing were so intense that I had tears in my eyes in the theatre.
Overall, Nezha 2 is a bit of a mess and someone who read My Sleep a few times really absorbed everything, But animation wise it’s definitely great and has some great jokes! There’s a lot to it, and that’s ok, because it ensures every demographic can find something great to enjoy.
